Following in the footsteps of her chart-topping tracks such as Ghost Lover, Dive, and Shake It Off, Emme Lentino’s most recent release, Time Machine, is already making waves.
Emme’s previous releases have made a significant splash on severalbroadcasting networks and streaming services, including MOOD MEDIA, the FLOW FM NETWORK, GRANT BROADCASTERS, 3AW, ABC LOCAL, ABC COUNTRY, the KIX COUNTRY NETWORK, and MTV/CMT, as well as being chosen for a Woolworths national campaign ad. Utilising a refined combination of contemporary sounds, including smooth guitar touches, keyboard textures and infectious hooks, Emmedraws inspiration from scientific concepts and the works of scientists such as Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein.
Emme’s father, a scientist and teacher, first sparked her interest in time travel when she was young. Emme wrote the lyrics to Time Machinewhile listening to Dan Antunovich’s instrumental track driving through the snowymountains of Oregon. Emme creates a track that blurs the gap between the past and the future by flawlessly blending her past and present selves. As Emme tells us, ‘In Jan 2017, I recorded most of the lead vocals at Jim Scott’s studio – Plyrz studios (Los Angeles). For whatever reason, the song got shelved.
But I had a yearning in my heart to revisit it. Fast forward to Dec 2022, Dan and I record more vocals in my living room in New Zealand. Combined with Emme from almost seven years ago and the Emme now!’ In addition to its artistic qualities, Time Machine explores the transformative potential of music as therapy. Utilising hooks to get at the heart is a typical characteristic of Emme’s writing style, and Time Machine has a lot of this going on.
Emme’s progression as a creative power shows no indications of slowing down, as evidenced by her previous successes Dive and Ghost Lover which have been shortlisted for the semi-finals of the ISC International Songwriting Contest.
