LONNIE HOLLEY SPARKS SATURDAY TICKET LIMITED RELEASE

September 25, 2023

Wanderer Festival has announced the release of a limited number of Saturday single day tickets for the three day event which kicks off this Friday. Saturday only tickets had not been originally released to keep the audience size as even as possible throughout the weekend, ensuring smooth planning and resourcing for the event. However with around 90% of tickets now sold, organisers say each day is incredibly even, allowing a little flexibility. Festival Director, Simon Daly credited the outcome to strong programming throughout the entire weekend with each day offering incredible artists you just don’t want to miss out on. It’s pretty special having these performances here on the Sapphire Coast, and it’s a case of ‘once in a lifetime’ when it comes to some of these artists that we are bringing to Pambula Beach, Daly said.

One such artist is Lonnie Holley and Daly also said that he was “incredibly moved to hear Lonnie Holley’s plans to arrive early and immerse in the people and place which will inspire a whole set of new songs created just for his performance at Wanderer Festival.” Lonnie Holley is an internationally renowned visual artist and musician hailing from the USA who delivers an extraordinary aural memoir forged in Alabama fire and a life of extreme adversity and perseverance. He can be found in music critics bucket lists and is sought after by acclaimed collaborators (Bon Iver, Michael Stipe, Moor Mother, Sharon Van Etten, Rokia Koné and renowned producer Jacknife Lee).

“Most people are coming for 2 or 3 days because there’s so much on offer each day but there will be some people who can only make it on Saturday and I’m stoked to be able to open up this option for them to buy a single day ticket and not miss this incredible artist” Daly said. Saturday is headlined by iconic Australian act Spiderbait, with Django Django (UK), Montaigne, Haiku Hands, Steph Strings, Kim Churchill and more performing on Saturday. Friday flavours are just as rich with The Jungle Giants, Thelma Plum, Son Little (USA), Ben Lee, Jacoténe, C.W. Stoneking and loads more whilst the Sunday session hits the spot with Ocean Alley, Sampa The Great (ZM), Kevin Morby (USA), Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Northeast Party House and the list goes on.

Festival lovers and holiday makers from every state in Australia have bought tickets to Wanderer and are taking advantage of the long weekend to experience one of Australia’s newest and greatest destination events. Perfect festival weather is forecast with the region’s warm and sunny days set to continue throughout the event promising a weekend that is not to be missed.
