from forthcoming debut album ‘THROUGH THE WALLS’
and announce extensive national tour
September 13, 2019
Preparing for a busy end of 2019, The VANNS have shown no signs of slowing down as they prepare for the highly anticipated release of their debut album, Through The Walls.
A project that has seen the South Coast four-piece fully embrace their indie-rock identity on record and thrive within a sonic realm driven by guitars, powerful melodies and inviting arrangements, the album is the perfect snapshot of The VANNS operating at full strength.
Ahead of the album’s release on October 25th, The VANNS have shared their new single from Through The Walls, in ‘Deranged’, as well as an unmissable run of Aussie tour dates to round out 2019.
Listen to ‘Deranged’
Developing a strong live show and presence off the back of high profile support slots with artists including Catfish and The Bottlemen, Hippo Campus and Ocean Alley, as well as selling out shows of their own on the east coast, The VANNS have proven time and time again to be one of Australia’s hardest touring bands.
Fast becoming festival fixtures following stellar sets at events including Party In The Paddock, Yours & Owls Festival and the Big Pineapple Festival, the national attention the band has been attracting has courted the acclaim and praise from national radio and triple j, bolstering their online presence where they have enjoyed over four and a half million streams to date.
Their recent signing with 123 Music/SONY has only kicked things up an extra notch for the band, as they join a roster boasting some of the country’s best young talent in Hollow Coves and Pinkish Blu.
Pre Order Album Here
Produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy) and mixed by Dawson and Chris Collins (Gang of Youths), the project is strong in delivery and slick in presentation.
The rock edge The VANNS have produced over previous singles, notably ‘Mother’ and ‘How Was I Supposed To Know’ is further refined with ‘Deranged’; the band has found its pocket and they sit in it comfortably and confidently.
“The song came about whilst I was staying over in London and I had up until the first chorus written with a rough melody. Once I brought the song home it took a whole new direction of meaning.” Jimmy Vann
Thriving on melancholic and wistful sounds, ‘Deranged’ is an ode to experiences lived in all their colours, the dark and the light. The band shines as a unit on the track, demonstrating their strength in studio as a performing unit – a strength has proven to be a steadfast hallmark of their live shows and new recordings.

PRAISE FOR THE VANNS
“It’s got elements that would make classic rock heads lose their mind and the indie kids swoon as well.”
Triple J, Declan Byrne (‘Mother’, 2019)
–
“Feels like this is you at your most comfortable. Suits you, and works super well when you kick into that chorus.”
Triple J Unearthed, Max Quinn (‘Mother’, 2019)
–
“With raspy vocals cooing through the verses and expressive chorus it’s an instantly likeable rock ‘n’ roll tune that packs a serious punch. Refined, swagger dipped and laced in oodles of passion and fantastic instrumentation, ‘Mother’ gives us another reason to keep an eye on The Vanns.”

Heading out on the road throughout the end of the year with ‘Deranged’ and Through The Walls, The VANNS are amping up for a summer full of new vibes and connecting with an ever-strengthening fan base around the country.
