In a stirring revival, Australian rock band Story resurrects their seminal track, Damnation Dawning, with a fresh vigour. Initially written during the tumult of 1979 and first recorded for their debut EP in 2013, this song has become a cornerstone of Story’s legacy.
The original, characterized by its raw, unfiltered energy, featured contributions from notable musicians such as Bob Spencer, Mick Pealing, Jack Jones, Mark Ritchie, and David Briggs. Fast forward to 2024, and Story reinvigorates this classic with a new studio recording that deftly balances modernity with reverence for its roots.
Produced by the skilled trio of Mike Mathews, Martin Pullan, and Mike Cohen, the revamped Damnation Dawning showcases a polished arrangement infused with a contemporary flair.
