Live hip-hop culture is something that the Wollongong nightlife has been sorely lacking, despite the increase of dedicated artists in the area putting out consistent, passionate music.
Sludgeface – fresh off the release of his latest album: ‘SWEET’ – along with artists and collectives such as Anonimus Empire and JRUM, are teaming up to inject a much-needed dose of the underground hip-hop scene into the hearts, minds and ears of the local live music community – and ultimately provide an opportunity for a more diverse musical landscape for aspiring artists and fans alike.
You can catch Anonimus Empire headlining ‘The Delivery Room: Takeover’ event at The Shy Postie on December 17th. This is the show that sets the wheels in motion. Acts like JRUM, Sludgeface, Angelo The Poet and more will be there to perform blazing-hot supporting sets on a night sure to be one for the ages.
But the Sludge Man himself had something diabolical up his sleeve…..and announced ‘SLUDGE WORLD’ – a massive night of wild, fun, local hip-hop, with acts coming together on January 6th at La La La’s to bring the house down – with Sludgeface set to perform as the headline.
These two shows are the beginning of a new wave for the Wollongong music scene – one that shouldn’t be so easily overlooked and one you definitely do not want to miss.
