‘FEEL GOOD SUMMER’

Following on from the success of their latest single ‘Feel Good Summer’, Newtown’s self-proclaimed shittest band SCABZ have today revealed the accompanying videoclip, directed and edited by the band themselves.
The clip was shot throughout Wollongong and the Port Kembla Steel Works, showing the vast contrast between the beaches of the coast and the ugliness of the steel works. Lead singer Siobhan Poynton plays the character of a climate change denier, expanding on her razor-sharp commentary already represented lyrically in the track.
Siobhan talks about the filming process:
“It’s so beautiful down in the ‘gong’ but there’s always the looming yukiness of the steel works, which has been an influence on the direction of the track. We tried to show what the world might be like if we don’t fix some things. For example, a holiday for the kids in the future might be taking them to see where coal is made cause there won’t be anywhere left to go camping etc. We tried to act out the character the song is about as well, someone who has all the gear and no idea that the world is dying around em”.
To coincide with the release, the band will traverse the East Coast on an eight-date tour, stopping by the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Canberra, Wollongong, Melbourne and of course, Newtown.
