September 21, 2021

Samuel Baker, former front man of Lepers and Crooks, moved to Sweden shortly after the bands final show on May 25, 2018. ‘Sleep Angry’ was inspired by the singers time in Sweden; falling in love, getting engaged, and returning home single AF to a broken home.

The song was born in Sydney, shortly after Baker’s return to Australia. The singer teamed up with the legendary Isabella Kearney-Nurse, and Robby De Sa from Sony Music after receiving a call from Isabella.

Baker explains, “I received a call from Belle asking why I hadn’t released any solo music!? I told her I never stopped writing and I’d worked on tracks with Artists in Sweden, Estonia, and NYC – but I just wasn’t sold on the whole ‘Solo Artist thing’. However, when Belle invited me to work with her and Robby, I just knew I had to do it.”

Baker is set to release a follow up single, as well as his first EP over the coming Months.
