PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS unleash wild new single

‘MUNDUNGUS’

Perth legends’ epic tour of North America, Europe and the UK continues into November before returning to Australia for the SPILT MILK and FALLS FESTIVAL!

October 15, 2019

As Psychedelic Porn Crumpets continue to warp minds and spin out on sold out stages throughout America, the band has found time to deliver another striking single in ‘MUNDUNGUS’! The first slice of new music from the Perth group since releasing their acclaimed third studio album, AND NOW FOR THE WHATCHAMACALLIT, back in May, the new sounds from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets aims for the rafters in smashing out chaotic sounds marked with their unique twist.

‘Mundungus’, an archaic term for foul-smelling tobacco (or, for eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans, the name of Order of the Phoenix member and conman, Mundungus Fletcher), is a confident and fleshed out offering from the band, who have truly taken 2019 by the horns. Receiving its worldwide premiere on BBC Radio 1 with Annie Mac, ‘Mundungus’ is fiery and captures the spirit of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets in full technicolour glory.

Mundungus is the rare post tour recovery period where all our surrounding friends and family assume we’re crippled with alcoholism, burdened with lives of social estrangement and are far too disillusioned to foresee our self destructive tendencies”. – Jack McEwan, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

Since the release of And Now For The Whatchamacallit, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have grown stronger under an international and Australian spotlight.

Their Splendour in the Grass debut drew rave reviews, while their 27 date North American tour has seen sold out shows across the run, not to mention a special session recorded at the legendary KEXP studios in Seattle and a spot on this year’s Desert Daze Festival.

With their UK and European run set to kick off in a matter of weeks, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are anticipating some of the biggest headline and festival shows of their career. Their London show at the Electric Ballroom marks their biggest show in Britain to date, playing to a 1000 capacity room this November.

Gigs in Manchester, Birmingham and Cambridge have already sold out, with more shows well on their way to follow suit.
The album has proved to be a touchstone achievement for the group, attracting Australian and international favour.

Support from Triple J, BBC Radio 1, NPR and renowned media including Q, Classic Rock and DIY have further cemented Psychedelic Porn Crumpets as a long lasting musical presence, while in the streaming world, And Now For The Whatchamacallit has surpassed 3 million Spotify streams and over 70k artist profile followers.

PRAISE FOR PSYCHEDELIC PORN CRUMPETS

“It’s a fuzzy, chaotic blast into the warped world Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have created. Every. Single. Time. Sounds so good every time it comes on the radio.”

Triple J Unearthed, Claire Mooney (‘Bill’s Mandolin’, 2019)

“That intro is searingly good! I’m convinced this band are actual magicians, as certified by the old wizard from Shazam!”

Triple J Unearthed, Dave Ruby Howe (‘Hymn For A Droid’, 2019)

“Every bit the celebratory psych-rock album it strives to be.”

DIY Mag

“It’s a record that demands repeat listenings, as each winding, polarising playthrough offers wild new directions and tasty little tidbits to explore.”

AV Hub

“It’s music for parties, rebellion and necking a drink or another person in the streets – pop-it-with-a-crumpet excess.”
