Announce August UK shows with Royal Blood ahead of Splendour In The Grass
July 12, 2019
Perth’s Psychedelic Porn Crumpets today share the raucous video for their latest single ‘Hymn For A Droid’, lifted from their recently released album And Now For The Whatchamacallit.
Filmed across their recent storming UK/EU run, the video contains footage from their Glasgow, Liverpool and All Points East festival gigs and displays the absolute force of nature that is a Psychedelic Porn Crumpets live show.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets today also announce that they will be supporting Royal Blood on their upcoming UK tour dates at Dundee’s Caird Hall and Nottingham’s Rock City this August.
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ third studio album And Now For The Whatchamacallit is out now and is a culmination of experiences lived on the road and influences stemming from the last few years of chaos for the band.
The record is testament to Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ never relenting vivacious attitude and hungry approach to powerful music, with the band bringing every ounce of this energy and flare to their riotous live shows.
Hailing from the same city as psych-rock contemporaries Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and POND, the release of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ And Now For The Whatchamacallit marks an exciting chapter for the band that sets them apart from the crowd.
Recorded between Jack McEwan’s bedroom and Tone City Studios in Perth, mixed by Michael Jelinek (Gunns) and mastered by John Davis (Gorillaz, The Killers), And Now For The Whatchamacallit is representative of the band’s huge developed sound and even loftier ambitions.
On the inspiration behind the new album, the band say: “The original concept was to take a 1930’s carnival that had been re-imagined for future generations, a collage of Punch and Judy, carousels and coconut shy’s that progresses in musical concepts and travels with the listener.
Then as we started traveling I was swept off into my own kind of circus, the odyssey of touring life. Large nights out, larger characters, drunken recollections of foreign cities and rabbit hole-ing into insanity (kindly illustrated by Quentin Blake)”.

“‘And Now For The Whatchamacallit’ shifts the band away from the shadow of Tame Impala and Unknown Mortal Orchestra into something far more particular and intricate, but just as entertaining – an exuberant, hair-flailing stew of prog, psychedelic rock, glam, speed metal, math rock and doom boogie.” – Metro
“A truly unique live proposition, their other-worldly psychedelia is melded into some startling shapes on ‘And Now For The Whatchamacallit” – Clash
“Australia’s next great psych band” – DIY
