October 06, 2020

Listen to ‘Bury Your Head’

Inspired by unconventional romance, falling out of love and substance abuse. “Bury Your Head” delivers an explosive dream-like state of heartbreak and fake masculinity in tiny pieces of shattered glass, brandished with a black eyes and a busted lip.

Johnny Cade is a tall ghostly figure crowned in red within a veil of smoke. Residing in Wollongong and working closely alongside Sound Engineer, Darcy Rosskelly from Foley St. Studios, who has produced other Wollongong dream-pop artist, Yen Strange and post-punk terrors Lax Charisma & The Cowboys of Doom. To fine-tune a severe bombardment of avant-garde telecaster twinkle, scoured by ultra-emotive lyrics and high-octane vocals.

Johnny Cade has a disparate list of influences including the likes of Rowland S. Howard, Jesus and The Mary Chain, David Bowie, Jon Klein, Nicole Dollanganger, William S. Burroughs and Drop Nineteens.

An upcoming double-single release show with Sydney’s brand new post-punk outfit Enclave on the 8th of October at La La La’s in Wollongong is locked and loaded. So you’ll be able to view Johnny Cade briefly step out of the dark.
