The Melbourne-based 4-piece Creek have not mucked around getting their name and their music around. Blending heavy blues, Psych and alt-rock, Creek put it out there with way above average musicianship and plenty of hair and high notes.
Creek are headed out on the road this April to celebrate the release of heavy new single ‘The Deep’, the first song from their impending album of the same name.
‘The Deep’ is accompanied by an entrancingly wicked music video as the swamp siren lures her unwitting victim to his death as a sacrifice to nature. The vid was directed by filmmakers Sammy Pearson (Cruelty Road Studios) and Jackson Tipping (Superculture).

MORE ABOUT CREEK
There’s a lot on the cards for Creek followers in 2019! The band have just dropped a single from their upcoming debut LP, ‘The Deep’, coupled with an entrancingly wicked music video directed by filmmakers Sammy Pearson and Jackson Tipping of Cruelty Road Studios. The morbidly heavy alt-blues track tells the tale of the “swamp siren” (portrayed brilliantly by Dominik Shields in the video) from an oblivious victim’s perspective, as she lures them through the thick forest for sacrifice to the land.
‘Suspense and drama right from the get-go pulls you straight into an Aussie Horror Flick’ – Happy Mag.
‘very… interesting (watch until the end)’ – Heavy Mag. ‘The Deep’ [Official Music Video]:
In light of the release, the boys are embarking on their first national tour of Australia this April. ‘Creek: East Coast Tour ’19’ kicks off at Brisbane’s Mojo Burning on Saturday 6 April; working its way down through a handful NSW venues, and dealing a final blow with a Melbourne homecoming single launch show at The Evelyn Hotel, Fitzroy on Saturday 27 April.
Two more singles are due in the coming months, as they lead up to the release of the album this Spring. The album is set to have 10 tracks, with material varying from the band’s familiar riff-rock grooves to recent alt-rock/psych explorations. Awoken from their slumber, the hairy Creek rad-lords have ascended from riverbanks Victoria-wide, merging in Melbourne to spread their concoction of heartfelt noise mud all over fans of heavier music. With a groove akin to the constant flow of the current, and a force as reckoning as the strong pull of the rapids, you’ll be mesmerised and mobilised by their modern take on rock’n’roll. Infusing the sounds of 1960’s/70’s blues-rock, psych, and soul with more recent progressive/alternative styles, it’s in the band’s framework to hit you with a refreshing dose of rhythm you can get up and into, and leave you feeling satisfied with a captivating performance experience you just won’t forget. Creek has given crowds a run for their money on many stages throughout Australia.
The boys have been working their way into the festival circuit, making themselves heard at Queenscliff Music Festival 2017; contributing to Folk, Rhythm & Life Festivals 2018 and 2016; and receiving praise as a “crowd favourite” at the Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festivals of 2018 and 2017. With a sound that can either work with the grain or fight against it in the world of rock music, Creek have a certain adaptability which enables them to fit bills of varying style. In the past, they’ve cranked the amps up to support Aussie icons Shannon Noll and Chocolate Starfish, and have made light of their more creative side when supporting up-and-coming acts. The band have toured state and country-wide; and wherever they’ve been, they’ve never failed to get heads nodding and feet tapping.
