Australian rock band LEADFINGER are due to release a fantastic new Album in early 2022 through Golden Robot Records, their first since the highly regarded 2016 album, Friday Night Heroes.
In the lead up the band are releasing some preview singles, the second of which is THE FALL OF ROME, an epic follow up to the earlier NOBODY KNOWS single from June. THE FALL OF ROME actually came to the bands songwriter, Stewart Cunningham in a dream and rides on the back of a haunting guitar arpeggio and lyric about the eternity of love in a dying world. This may well be LEADFINGER’S finest musical moment, evocative of the Blue Oyster Cult classic Don’t Fear the Reaper and brimming with 70’s rock guitar flourishes and vocal harmonies.

ABOUT LEADFINGER
LEADFINGER have been a mainstay in the underground rock scene since the mid 2000’s, releasing numerous albums through Citadel Records and Bang! Records out of Spain. They have returned to playing live in 2021 as part of the Golden Robot Records roster.
The band’s name was originally a nome de plume for songwriter/guitarist Stewart Cunningham and stems from a brotherly air rifle shooting incident when he was a teenager.
After first plying his guitar-slinger trade in the late 80’s with Wollongong’s seminal pre-grunge Proton Energy Pills, Cunningham headed to Sydney to play in underground guitar bands – Brother Brick, Asteroid B-612 and Challenger-7 – as well as a stint in Melbourne with The Yes-Men.
Forming in 2006, Leadfinger morphed into a twin guitar rock n’ roll band in 2008 becoming a 4 piece line up which has remained unchanged since that time. They toured Europe in October 2017.
Presenting as a real rock’n’roll band, with influences stretching back to the 70’s rock and punk eras, through the classic Stones and Dylan records of the 60’s, the blues and beyond. Their timeless songwriting and heart-on-sleeve delivery has won them many fans! The band will release their 6th album, titled SILVER & BLACK through Golden Robot Records in 2022!
