“It’s Gonna Be Okay” thanks to Mickey Kojak

A new track with new friend, Jake Stone

March 24, 2018

Mickey Kojak is back with his latest single “It’s Gonna Be Okay”.His music is multifaceted – from face-melting electronic anthems like his last single “All That Acid” to honest lyrical ballads with lush, ethereal soundscapes. “It’s Gonna Be Okay” falls somewhere in the middle.

Mickey’s newest friend Jake Stone (Bluejuice) has lent his vocals to the track after commenting on a festival video of Kojak performing his latest single “All That Acid”. Jake came to a showand the two started chatting.

Not long after that, the pair were holed up in Mickey’s Sydney studio. Each recording session came with a martial arts lesson, which from all reports were short-lived and always ended with Mickey being grappled to the ground.

Mickey says;
“This track means a great deal to me and it’s a pleasure to have worked on it with someone as prolific and talented as Jake Stone.

Jake saw me perform “It’s Gonna Be Okay” for the first time at my Oxford Arts Factory show last December. He loved the energy that was added to it during the live performance and thought that the recorded version should reflect that. I thought the best way for him to show me what he meant was to do it himself. After a one lengthy session together, the song was well and truly finished, ready to be served a la carte to your ear holes.”

Mickey will be spreading his Okay vibes around the country when he embarks on a national tour coinciding with the release of his forthcoming EP, Together, due out in April.
