Harry Cleverdon, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Young, NSW may just be the best-kept secret in Australian music that will soon no longer be such a secret. Harry has had over a quarter of a million Spotify streams making him one of the most promising music artists of this year. Ever since his debut single Time to Time which was released in October 2019, Harry has flourished, releasing his much-anticipated debut album Octothorpe.

Harry’s new single, taken from his debut album, is a masterful contemporary pop-rock ode that fits nicely into the Ed Sheeran, John Mayer and Jason Mraz musical genre but has many points of difference.
One of the most obvious ones is Harry’s voice; rich and warm and powerful. And like those artists his songs are well-written, stirring and inviting narratives that utilise personal reflection to meditate on much larger themes. And Deserve Your Love is a great example of this.
It begins with a rolling guitar part that makes way for Harry’s significantly imposing voice, one you can’t imagine emanates from an 18-year-old. Just as his vocal delivery sounds incredibly mature and sophisticated likewise his songwriting, a splendid tapestry of folk, pop and chilled styles that is often disarming and highly emotive.
In a short period, Harry has achieved some amazing things including winning the International Songwriting Competition for the people’s choice with his song Hit Me While I’m Down, sharing the stage with several big names including Troy Cassar-Daley and Isaiah Firebrace, winning numerous national competitions including ‘Champion’ of the National Busking Championships and releasing a critically acclaimed EP.
Deserve Your Love is great sounding and well-produced fittingly placing Harry’s voice front and centre of the sound. It won’t be long until Harry’s streams reach a million, ushering a new star onto the Australian musical landscape.
