has just released a wonderfully written rock ballad, Victoria.

Former singer of INXS, Ciaran Gribbin has just released Victoria, a wonderfully written rock ballad that will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday, November 13, 2020.

Ciaran Gribbin is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and performer who has worked with top-tier artists such as Madonna, U2, Paul McCartney, Snow Patrol, and Al Pacino.  He received his Grammy nomination for co-writing Madonna’s hit, Celebration.

Although he hails from Castledawson, Northern Ireland, Ciaran took the opportunity to front the legendary Australian band INXS after meeting Andrew Farriss while on tour in Australia with Paolo Nutini. The Northern Irishman fell in love with Australia and has not looked back. He now calls the city of Sydney home.

Victoria is a follow-up to his recent release Let’s Change the World a song co-written with songwriting legends Bob Young and Francis Rossi of Status Quo. 

Ciaran’s new single Victoria was written with his friend, Australian journalist and musician Daniel Fallon (The Cockroaches, The John Field Band).  The song is about looking back at a moment in time, when you knew you had met someone extraordinary, and wondering what might have been.

The song features beautiful vocals by Ciaran Gribbin backed by some of Australia’s finest musicians, including drummer Declan Kelly (Bernard Fanning), bass player Rowan Lane (Rodriguez) and Paul Beard, who has toured as Musical Director for Robbie Williams, James Blunt, Art Garfunkel and Bryan Ferry.

“We wanted to capture the recording of the song as a live band in a studio, so we did the recording at The Nest, Declan’s studio in Surry Hills, Sydney,” says Ciaran.  “I loved singing with the band, and for me, the highlight was watching Dan Fallon play sax on the song.  It was an extraordinary recording session.”

For his co-writer, who grew up on stage performing with the Fields and Fallons in Australia, it has been an organic creative process and dreamlike to record with his mates.

“Ciaran is a wonderfully gifted artist who sings and plays from the heart,” Dan Fallon says. “I love performing with him – you stand back on the stage and go ‘wow’. He has an incredible voice and he is a natural on guitar. To have him recording with this incredible band is special.”
