Ghost Lover is the new single release for Australian singer-songwriter Emme Lentino. The new one comes in the wake of the success of her previous songs, Dive and Shake It Off, which generated plays on MOOD MEDIA, FLOW FM NETWORK, GRANT BROADCASTERS, 3AW, ABC LOCAL, ABC COUNTRY, KIX COUNTRY NETWORK, MTV / CMT, and many more.
Ghost Lover was recorded at the NightBirdStudios in Los Angeles. It features the talents of Ric’key Pageot (Madonna, Cher, Diana Ross), Nick Gaffaney (Cairo Knife Fight) on backing vocals and drums and was produced by multi-instrumentalist and composer Dan Antunovich (Kitaro). In Ghost Lover, the singer navigates a precarious emotional environment, which, despite the song’s overall tone of solemnity, makes for a riveting listen.
The new song combines variouscontemporary pop elements to produce a striking musical backdrop for introspective and moving observations about a romantic partnership marked by dread and anxiety. The song was just launched in time for Halloween, and it is anticipated that it will achieve the same level of success as Emme’s previous singles.
When asked about the track, Emme says, ‘I was inspired by hanging out at the Sunset Marquis and its iconic rock history and suffering from insomnia. Sleepless nights and spooky frights definitely ignited my creative spirit. I remember sitting down at the piano, half asleep, words and melody just danced on the keys. It was a very unique songwriting experience. Recording with amazing musicians who brought the music in my head to full life was a true dream come true.’ Ghost Loveralso includes several ambient aspects, thanks to some superb piano work, distinguishing rhythms, and Emme’s sophisticated vocal delivery—this is accomplished without abandoning a melodic sensibility or an alluring simplicity, both of which are present in the track.
The song also has an appealing simplicity, which helps it construct an emerging narrative over its entirety.
