Following the release of their critically-praised single ‘Juliet’, Sydney-based indie-rock trio CREO have returned with the accompanying video clip – directed by Murli Dhir.
Filmed at Innerfit Gym in Sydney’s Leichardt using a blacked-out spin classroom, the clip sees an impassioned performance from the trio, with the use of full-length mirrors and various lighting triggers. Superbly shot on a Super 8 Camera, including the use of kaleidoscope lenses, the video oozes retro resemblances, as well as the animation of lyrics from lead singer Jorjee Haman’s original lyric sheet.

Jorjee talks about the process behind ‘Juliet’:
“The clip is a reintroduction of the band as a new entity (three-piece). The music has taken a slightly different direction, so we really wanted to symbolise that by the use of the mirrors thus creating a visual of different angles to how people would usually hear or see CREO. We tried to tie this in with an editing style that plays on the song’s nostalgic 80’s sound by using various dated cameras, and postproduction techniques”.
Since release, the track has seen extensive support from Spotify, triple j Unearthed, Pilerats, Indie Obsessive (USA), Analogue Track (UK), ParapOp (IND), Forte Magazine, Something You Said and Australian community radio.
In the live arena, the band have toured extensively across Australia, selling out their own headline shows and sharing stages alongside Nothing But Thieves (UK), Minus The Bear (USA), British India, Last Dinosaurs, Tired Lion, Polish Club and Bad//Dreems, including playing iconic Australian event Falls Festival.
