The song is a cover of the iconic Aussie classic by the legendary pub rock band of the 70s, Avalanche—fronted by none other than Steven Campbell’s father, Adrian Campbell. This track showcases the band’s ambition, skill, and reverence for their rock forebears. As Steven Campbell reflects on the new release, ‘Avalanche’s original track was released in 1976. In their brief time together, they toured with AC/DC, appeared on Molly Meldrum’s Countdown, scored some billboard charting singles, and even inspired a sample by The Notorious B.I.G.’ Sweet Baby Brown Eyes was recorded at A Sharp Recording Studios under the guidance of Grammy-nominated and ARIA award-winning producer Steve James, who has worked with some of the biggest names in rock, including Airbourne, Sex Pistols, The Angels, and Cold Chisel.
The result is the band’s most refined and chart-targeted work to date, a testament to their musical prowess and dedication to their craft. The band’s previous EP, Second Hand Band, received widespread recognition and praise, appearing in Rolling Stone Magazine and The Sydney Morning Herald, and receiving airplay on radio stations worldwide. The husband-and-wife duo of Steven Campbell and Veronica ‘V’ Campbell are joined by Ryan Roma (aka ‘ADHD’) on drums and rhythm machine and Arthur Divis on rhythm guitar.
