KYLE LIONHART RELEASES SINGLE ‘SO CLOSE’

+ ANNOUNCES HUGE APRIL/MAY TOUR

March 19, 2019

Ivy League Records are thrilled to announce the return of Byron Bay artist Kyle Lionhart, who has revealed the first taste of his long-awaited debut album in the form of new single, ‘So Close’ out everywhere today! In more exciting news, Kyle has announced a mammoth 14-date headline tour spanning capital cities and regional towns, kicking off in Newcastle on Wed 24 April and finishing in Fremantle on Sun 26 May – tickets on sale now.

Kyle discloses, “I wrote this song In the midst of chaos. I was lost, I didn’t know what my next step was, what direction I was heading or why. Everything was bubbling up, all my past decisions, mistakes, we’re haunting me again, everything I thought I had built a solid foundation under started falling apart. And it all started with an argument with someone I love and look up to.”

Describing himself as a singer, songwriter, surfer & plant eater, Lionhart honed his craft and began to build a sizeable and extremely loyal fanbase by busking on the streets and beaches of his home town Byron Bay. In February 2015, Kyle self-released his debut EP Keep In Mind. At a time when even major labels were struggling to sell CDs, Kyle sold out more than 10,000 copies. His music and reputation soon spread around the world thanks to the enthusiastic reviews of impressed tourists and it wasn’t long before record labels began to notice the young busker, who was drawing crowds in the hundreds on the main street of Byron Bay.

Kyle signed to Ivy League Records in 2016 and a year later released his second EP entitled Eleven & Two. Despite little radio play, the EP generated over 10 million streams and lead to a sold-out national Australian tour, a European tour with Xavier Rudd & a debut London headline show that sold out within a week of going on sale.

In November 2018, Kyle began recording his long awaited debut album in Nashville with executive producer Jon Hume and producer Lindsay Jackson. The first single, ‘So Close’ draws influences from the likes of Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard and Bon Iver.

With an incredibly exciting 12 months ahead, Kyle Lionhart is destined to become your favourite new artist in 2019. Stay tuned for more news on his debut album and be sure to catch him on the road this April/May.
