Cole Phoenix – Ready To Live ‘Single Review’

Friday September 30, 2022

With a music career that spans over ten years, Cole Phoenix has gone from strength to strength, releasing three albums and several hit singles, including UFO, Stone Woman and Superhero.

Cole has just released her latest, Ready To Live, an instantly accessible indie pop track with a lyric that most will relate to. Attaining ‘winners’ circle’ status in the 2020 International Songwriting Competition, Ready To Live has already received accolades and awards and attracted global praise.

This latest success adds to Cole’s previous achievements, which include being nominated for 2015 Best New Artist New Music Awards among chart-toppers Sam Smith, Charlie XCX, her 2014 Single UFO reaching no. 1 on TOP 40 internet charts and in 2013 landing on the shortlist for the International Songwriting Competition for her anti-bullying anthem (Dance/Electronica). Cole’s nuanced and dynamic vocal is at the centre of this new one though the clean and vibey electro-indie dance-pop production and instrumentation help Cole’s message of renewal to stand out.

As Cole has said about her latest track, ‘Ready To Live was inspired by a life-changing event. The song is about focusing on values such as family, forging deep relationships and not superficial connections. It’s an empowering anthem, encouraging people to “drive” their own life – and not be steered by fear or fear of fitting in – life is “too fragile to waste” – so be bold, take charge of your life and be READY TO LIVE for it.’

Ready To Live reveals a certain kind of life journey that many undertake, whether involuntarily or not, that of realising the precarious and precious nature of our lives—that we can be here one day and gone the next. Utilising a standardised pop arrangement and a balance between surprise and expectation, Cole Phoenix has come up with one of the most vital records of her career, and its connection with audiences everywhere will surely attest to that.
