South coast ocean loving band Pacific Avenue headline a free line-up of live music on April 23 & 24 at the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival in Bondi,  the first major outdoor music event at the iconic beach since lockdown.

The Line-up also features indie-pop all girl group Erthlings, surfer singer songwriter Billy Otto, locals Declan Kelly and Jane Walker, including didj numbers with Matt Doyle, and dancing queen Chase Zera.

Kicking off on April 23 from 1.30pm in Bondi Park North the artists will perform throughout Saturday and Sunday afternoon on a solar powered Sunshine Stage courtesy of the Southern Cross University designed sunflower unit that has been used to power stages at Splendour in the Grass.

The Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival of Ideas, Art + Music and Actions is an ocean inspired event with free entertainment all weekend. The Festival Hub in Bondi Park hosts a market showcasing ocean friendly products and ideas, art installations and ocean science talks and workshops as well as a beach clean, sunrise yoga and even underwater drones to drive off North Bondi.

Saturday night will see a special outdoor sunset screening of the film Girls Can’t Surf with world champion Bondi surfer Pauline Menzcer in attendance to launch a campaign to build a statue in her honour.

The Saturday music set opens with high energy dancer, singer songwriter Chase Zera at 1.45pm on the Sunshine Stage followed by Erthlings who made a big splash when Future Classic signed the school girls aged just 16. Now graduated and ready to get back on stage and share their indie-pop music with the ethereal voice of singer Issy Lowe, the sassy 4 piece will hit the stage from 2pm on Saturday April 23.

Hailing from Gerringong in the Illawarra, four-piece rockers Pacific Avenue have been hitting the show circuit since the start of the year to sold out audiences, playing from their debut EP ‘Strawberry Skies’ recorded with ‘Gang of Youths’ producer Adrian Breakespear and written while the boys were living together in a beach shack. Catch their ocean loving sounds from 4pm on Saturday afternoon, April 23.

Local ocean lover Declan Kelly opens the afternoon music on stage on Sunday, April 24 at 1pm with his reggae roots and Polynesian influenced harmonies followed by nature and ocean advocate Jane Walker who is an Ambassador for the Ocean Recovery Alliance globally with her music. On stage from 2pm, she will be joined by Matt Doyle on Didgeridoo for her haunting song Ancient Land and headlining Sunday afternoon is environmental activist, surfer and singer Billy Otto back in Bondi from Byron on stage at 3pm.
