OF THEIR LATEST SINGLE ‘NEW LOVE DAWN’

Today, The Pinheads reveal a groove-laden remix of their latest single, ‘New Love Dawn’, remixed by acclaimed LA based producer Al Lover.
‘New Love Dawn’ was released in March this year, and was recorded & mixed by singer Jez Player, and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal (Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard, Bloc Party, Amyl & The Sniffers).
The single received airplay across triple j, as well as numerous community radio stations including FBi Radio & 2ser in Sydney, Triple R & SYN in Melbourne, Radio Adelaide, 2XX Canberra, 4ZZZ Brisbane, and RTR FM Perth, alongside spins across radio stations in Austria and France.
Now, The Pinheads are thrilled to reveal the remix of the track. Al Lover has taken the bouncy, funky, feel-good rock track, and turned the groove up to 11 on it. Al Lover is the resident DJ for Desert Daze Festival, and has remixed for the likes of GOAT, Thee Oh Sees, Night Beats, as well as collaborating with White Fence, and Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre).

Speaking about the remix, The Pinheads have said that they’re “honoured to be collaborating with Al Lover on a remix for ‘New Love Dawn’ – a song with a hip swinging groove and vigorous guitar lines. Al’s remix takes the song to a whole new realm, with flavours reminiscent of 90’s Manchester and a sprinkle of dub for good measure.”
Al Lover also speaks of the remix, saying “I really loved the groovy, rock funk vibe of the original track and could hear some gospel in it. I wanted to bring that out but pair it with a Screamadelica / Madchester kind of sound. I chose to focus on the bass and horns, stripping things down a bit and giving it some electronic sounds. I’m really stoked on the results!”

The Pinheads also reveal an additional remix available as a Bandcamp exclusive, with ‘New Love Dawn’ receiving a sultry remix treatment from Sydney soul & psych lord, King O.P.P.
