Following on from the release of singles ‘You + Me’, ‘Lemon + Lime’ and ‘Soaking Up The Sunshine’, NSW South Coast singer-songwriter Joe Mungovan announces his long awaited debut album ‘A Flower In The Weeds’ and releases his latest single, the intoxicating ‘Give Me Your Love’.

‘Give Me Your Love’ is a sensual jam which showcases Mungovan’s brilliant songwriting and further highlights why he was nominated for an APRA Award and Golden Guitar Award in 2021, and a Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition in 2020.
“Imagine yourself on a warm summer day in a beautiful city somewhere in Europe. You’ve been spending everyday exploring the city, drinking wine in the sun and everything is new and exciting.  On top of all of this you’re falling for a person you’ve just met. ‘Give Me Your Love’ is the soundtrack.” Joe Mungovan

The music video for ‘Give Me Your Love’, directed by Joe Mungovan and Mikey Conlon, was filmed in Joe’s hometown of Kiama. Complete with saxophone solo from his mate Dom Littrich, the video sees Mungovan front and centre for the first time unlike his previous videos, such as his Rage feature video and MTV favourite “Soaking Up The Sunshine’. “

“We were quite restricted with making this video. The initial idea for it had to change quite drastically when the second lockdown became quite serious in NSW. I decided to make it a one shot through my beautiful hometown of Kiama. We came up with a rough map of where we wanted to go and winged it a few times. Although we stumbled across a few hurdles (car doors not opening and lights falling over) we got there in the end.”

Drawing inspiration from his NSW coastal surroundings, Joe’s debut album was written during 2020 and the current 2021 lockdown. The album was produced by Mungovan and his mate Tim Carr, and mastered by Joe Carra.

“This album was written and recorded throughout 2020/21. I was living remotely when Covid hit and I ended up staying in the home studio I had set up for the rest of the year. I finally felt like I had the time and space to create a cohesive piece of art. I used the time to reflect on the past year of touring, life and love. ‘A Flower In The Weeds’ was my head-in-the-sand approach to the pandemic, focusing on the positives instead of getting swept up in the bullshit.”
