After revelling in the demise of the world on his last single, melancholic strummer Huck Hastings returns with a shimmery, upbeat ode to love on ‘It’s Alright/It’s Cool (Commitment Issues)’.

Commenting on the effect love has on even the most mundane activities ‘It’s Alright/It’s Cool (Commitment Issues)’ really is the song form of the heart eyes emoji.

The restrained lo-fi indie production offer the perfect backing to aid in the lyricism delivered by Hastings’ vulnerable yet charming vocals. The jangly guitar evolves into summery 60s beach tones as the track progresses.

Signalling his artistic growth ‘Hey Babe’ arrived in October 2019 alongside a Wes Anderson-esque clip and was swiftly added to rotation on FBi Radio and was named in their Independent Artist of the Week series.

Follow up ‘Soft – An Epilogue’ enjoyed further airplay and ‘Anthem for the End of the World’ found love on radio with rotation on FBi Radio and EDGE and a feature on Frankie Mag. All of these tracks will feature on his sophomore EP out later this year which features candid indie-pop tunes exploring concepts of self-worth and imperfections.
